We do our best to meet our customers’ requests. But it’s not always possible to make your delivery within a specific time window.
First, use either StarTrack: Track & Trace tool or AusPost: Tracking Service to see if it’s in transit.
If it doesn’t show up there, you can contact us via our online form on the right, don’t forget to fill in all required fields. We’ll then conduct a thorough investigation and keep you informed at every step of the way.
No, the driver can’t call you prior to delivery. This is primarily due to road safety reasons.
Please contact us on 03 5024 1212 for alternative arrangements, if required.
StarTrack is now a business of Australia Post, and we use both fleets to ensure deliveries meet customer expectations. Whether it’s Australia Post or StarTrack that will deliver thus depends on the location and situation.
There is no difference in delivery procedure every driver carries a handheld scanner so you can sign upon receipt of your parcel, and so capture proof of delivery.
The driver will leave a ‘Sorry We Missed You’ card either at your front door or in your letterbox. This card has instructions about how you can collect your parcel or get it re-delivered.
All compensation claims need to be lodged with Innovative Tags.
To lodge a request please fill in the Returns & Replacements form stipulating Damaged in transit as the reason for return.
Please refer to our Terms & Conditions for more information.
It depends on the tag material. Our NX range (0.25mm) is rated up to 12 months outdoors. The FX and SX ranges (0.35mm) are rated 12 months or more. Our PX range (0.58mm) is our premium tag and lasts 2+ years outdoors, even through a proper Australian summer. All are printed using thermal transfer ribbon, which is UV-resistant and weatherproof. Not sure which range suits your growing cycle? We’re happy to send a sample pack so you can test them yourself.
Direct thermal printing uses heat-sensitive paper with no ribbon. It is simpler and cheaper, but the print fades quickly in sunlight and heat, making it a poor choice for outdoor plant tags. Thermal transfer printing uses a ribbon to transfer ink onto the tag material, producing a print that holds up to UV, moisture, and chemical exposure. For any tag going outside, thermal transfer is the right call.
For tags that need to last more than six months outdoors in Australian conditions, you need a wax/resin or full resin ribbon. Wax-only ribbons are not suitable for outdoor use as they are not UV-resistant and the print degrades quickly in the sun. We supply matched ribbons for every printer and tag material we sell. If you are unsure, give us a call and we will point you to the right combination.
The ranges differ in thickness and longevity. The NX (0.25mm) is our entry-level pot tag, rated up to 12 months outdoors. The FX and SX ranges (0.35mm) are cost-effective options rated at 12 months or more. The PX (0.58mm) is our premium range, the thickest and most durable pot tag we sell, rated at 2+ years even in tough outdoor conditions. All are thermal transfer printable and supplied on rolls.
Yes. We supply GoDEX and SATO thermal transfer printers selected specifically for horticulture use. We do not just sell the box. We set up the printer, build your first label template, load the software, and provide ongoing phone support from our team in Red Cliffs, Victoria. Everything you need is available from us: printer, tags, ribbons, and support.
For thermal tags supplied on rolls (pot tags, tree tags, adhesive labels) there is no minimum order. You buy by the roll. For our custom full-colour printed tags the minimum is 24 tags per variety. That makes us a practical option for boutique nurseries and small growers, not just high-volume operations.
Yes, and we would encourage it. We send out free sample packs so you can feel the tag materials, run a test print on your own printer, and see how they hold up before committing to an order. No charge and no pressure. Request yours at itags.com.au/free-sample-pack/
Our tags are compatible with all major thermal transfer printers, including GoDEX, SATO, Zebra, Honeywell, and Toshiba. If you are not sure whether your printer model is compatible with a specific tag or ribbon, contact us before you order and we will confirm it.
Yes. We offer two printing services.
Our thermal printing service covers single and double-sided pot tags, tree tags, and adhesive labels. You provide your plant names and data, we print and ship them ready to use.
Our full-colour printing service covers a much broader range: pictorial pot tags and hang tags, die-cut stickers, POS signage, window decals, customer gift cards and store loyalty cards, and chemical and fertiliser labels. Minimum order for custom colour tags is 24 tags per variety. If you are not sure which service suits your needs, give us a call and we will sort it out.
